Mr. Jin is the Chairman and CEO of TMP Films Shanghai. He previously worked at Shanghai Media Group (SMG), the second largest media conglomerate in China with around 17,000 employees and over $10 billion in assets. Its publicly traded subsidiary Oriental Pearl Media has a market cap of ~$9 billion. At SMG, Mr. Jin held titles including Group Vice President, Director of Advertisement Operations, Vice General Manager of Oriental Television Station, etc. Under his leadership, SMG’s advertisement operations’ sales revenue grew from RMB 3 billion to RMB 8 billion, becoming a market leader in China
Before TMP Films Shanghai, he worked at TVB China as CEO for nearly 4 years. During this period he was involved in the investment and production of Chinese television series including Young Sherlock, The Battle at Dawn, The Fabulous Five: I’m a Star, etc. In conjunction with his television production experience, he established and maintained strong working relationships with leading Chinese new media platforms including YouKu Tudou, Tencent Video, iQiyi, Sohu.com, Wasu.cn, and Oriental Pearl Media / BesTV.
Mr. Jin successfully led the introduction of China’s Got Talent – the first successful Chinese acquisition and adaptation of a foreign reality TV format. His accolades include “The Prize for Excellence in Chinese Traditional Media,” “Top Ten Chinese Television Managers,” and “Ten Most Influential People in Chinese Media.”
Mr. Jin graduated from Fudan University in Shanghai with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
